Questions about this tool

Why won't it find the best allocation?
Because the best allocation for a past period is knowable and useless: it is chosen with the answers in hand. A tool that reported one would be selling hindsight as insight.
Why did my period get shorter?
Because it is the overlap of the histories you selected. Adding Bitcoin cuts everything back to 2019. The period used is printed on the result rather than quietly assumed.
Which rebalancing should I pick?
Both are shown because both are real choices. Annual sells what rose and buys what lagged; never lets the winner grow into the portfolio. They answer different questions, and neither is the correct one.
