- What is Witan Way?
- Witan Way is a rules-based investing system for self-directed investors who manage their own money. It combines The Charter, a free weekly market-regime reading, with The Lab, a member-only room of six systematic strategies, and The Way, an included curriculum that opens progressively. Every part is descriptive rather than predictive — you see a state, a rule, or a comparison, never an instruction — and you always implement everything yourself, in your own broker.

- Witan Way is for investors who manage their own money and want a calmer, more systematic way to read markets. It suits people who are comfortable choosing their own instruments and placing their own trades, but want a disciplined, rules-based process instead of headlines or hunches. It is educational throughout, available worldwide, with no advisory relationship and no connection to your brokerage account.
- What is the Charter?
- The Charter is a free weekly market-regime reading, published every Sunday. It reads five markets — equities, US Treasuries, gold, commodities, and bitcoin — for trend, momentum, and coherence, and distills each into a state. It is descriptive: a reading of the current environment, never a recommendation or a forecast.
- Is the Charter a forecast?
- No. The Charter reads the current environment across five markets; it does not claim to know what happens next. Each week it reports a state built from trend, momentum, and coherence, and what has changed since the previous week — description, not prediction.
- What is the Lab?
- The Lab is the member-only strategy room. It holds six systematic strategies, each with a published academic lineage apart from the proprietary Witan Way Core, plus tools to compare them against two reference benchmarks and your own saved versions, simulate an indicative allocation, and browse a bank of matching real-world assets. You choose a strategy, adjust a few meaningful parameters, and follow its weekly state.
- Does the Lab tell me what to buy?
- No. The Lab shows you a strategy's weekly state and, if you use the allocation simulator, an indicative sizing against a total you choose — never a tracker, an order, or a buy or sell instruction. You decide whether and how to act, and you place any resulting trades yourself, in your own broker.
- What are signals?
- A signal is a rule-based change in a strategy's state — for example, a shift from constructive to defensive as trend, momentum, or coherence cross a published threshold. It flags that the rules behind a strategy have registered a change; it is not a buy or sell instruction.
- Why are signals rare?
- Because each strategy's thresholds are set to respond to genuine shifts in trend, momentum, or coherence, not to daily noise. A strategy's state only changes when the underlying reading actually moves, which keeps activity low by design — The Lab is built to reduce noise, not add to it.
- Can I customize a strategy?
- Yes, within bounds. You can adjust a few meaningful parameters for any of the six strategies, save your version, and follow its weekly state — and compare it side by side with the original and with reference benchmarks.
- Why not allow unlimited customization?
- Because unlimited parameter tweaking makes it easy to fit a strategy tightly to past data, and a strategy fitted that closely to history rarely holds up going forward. Keeping customization bounded to a few meaningful parameters is a deliberate choice to guard against that kind of overfitting.
- Is Witan Way financial advice?
- No. Witan Way is educational and informational throughout — The Charter, The Lab, and The Way describe markets and strategies; they do not assess your personal situation or tell you what to do. There is no advisory relationship, and every decision, and its consequences, remain yours.
- Does Witan Way manage money?
- No. Witan Way does not manage assets, hold client funds, connect to brokers, or execute trades. It reads reference indices and shows you strategy states and simulations; you implement everything yourself, in your own broker and your own jurisdiction.
- Does Witan Way guarantee returns?
- No. No strategy on Witan Way, including Witan Way Core, offers a guarantee of returns or removes risk — every strategy can lose money. The Charter and The Lab are descriptive tools for reading markets and monitoring rules, not devices for eliminating risk.
- How much does the Lab cost?
- The Lab costs $59 per month or $590 per year. The Charter itself is always free.
- Is there a trial?
- Yes. The 30-day trial gives you full access to The Lab — all six strategies and their tools — plus the introductory lessons of The Way, so you can explore before you decide.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes. You can cancel anytime, on the trial or on a monthly or annual plan, with no long-term commitment.
- Do I need to connect my broker?
- No. Witan Way never connects to your broker and never touches your account — there is nothing to link. You keep full custody of your assets and implement everything yourself, in your own broker.
- Do you tell me which ETF to buy?
- No. The Lab's asset bank lists real ETFs and funds for each reference index, filterable by region, wrapper eligibility (UCITS, PRIIPs, PEA, ISA/SIPP), cost, and replication fidelity — but it is documentary, not a recommendation. You choose the instruments and remain responsible for implementation. The Lab reads reference indices, not your account.
- Can I use Witan Way outside the US?
- Yes. Witan Way is available worldwide, and while The Lab's indices are mostly dollar-denominated, it carries 26 display currencies so you can read performance in your own currency. Availability, tax treatment, instruments, and suitability remain your responsibility in your own jurisdiction.
- What market data do you use?
- Reference market data for public indices, ETFs, and crypto proxies — the same pillars The Charter reads and the strategies in The Lab are built on. The methodology behind each strategy, including its published thresholds, is disclosed rather than kept opaque.
- Can I lose money following a strategy?
- Yes. Every strategy, including Witan Way Core, can lose money — The Lab's comparison tools show simulated drawdowns alongside returns, including across six named historical stress periods. Witan Way is educational and does not remove risk; capital is always at risk when you implement a strategy yourself.
- Who is behind Witan Way?
- The brand speaks with one voice on purpose — the method, not a guru. Nothing about how Witan Way works is hidden: the terms of service, the privacy policy, the refund policy, and the contact addresses are all published. The method itself is inspectable too, with rules and explicit thresholds disclosed rather than kept as a black box.
