Questions about this tool
Why does the period change with the currency?
Because exchange-rate history differs by pair. The Mauritian rupee's usable history ends in August 2024, so any analysis in rupees stops there rather than being extended to today.
Can I just add the two percentages?
No, and that is the most common mistake here. They compound: 1.10 × 1.05 is 1.155, not 1.15. Over long periods and large moves the gap between the two is substantial.
Is a currency move predictable?
Nothing here suggests it is. The tool measures what happened over a period you chose; it makes no claim whatsoever about what an exchange rate will do next.
